The Town of Union Vale Hometown Heroes Banner Program is a community tribute to the veterans and active-duty service members who call Union Vale home. Each banner proudly displayed throughout our town tells the story of a local hero who answered the call to serve our nation. Through this program, we honor their courage, sacrifice, and service while expressing our community's enduring gratitude to those who have defended the freedoms we cherish.
The Union Vale Hometown Heroes program is authorized by the Town Council by a resolution, but no Town monies are spent for the program. The administratino of the program is done by volunteers and with help and coordination of Town employees. Banners are sponsored by individuals or businesses when a Hero is submitted to receive a banner. There are cutoffs for Hero Banner submissions as we will only be ordering and installing banners at certain times. Though the banners that are up will remain up as long as we are able to keep them up. Our initial round of Hero Banners is scheduled to be up for our Nation's 205TH Independence Day celebration, and will remain up through Veteran's Day. Subsequent years will generally be installed by Memorial Day and up through Veteran's Day.
